Class: Holiday Cookie Fundamentals

We're thrilled to offer this holly jolly spin on a cookie class, where we walk you through making three of our very favorite holiday cookies! Lessons will include:

Butter creaming techniques for shortbread versus scooped cookies
Shortbread shaping for slice-and-bake cookies
Icing techniques for shortbread and sandwich cookies
Baking instructions and best-practices
Walk-through of the Malted Molasses, Buttered Rum Shortbread, and Cocoa-Mint Sandwich Cookie recipes
A Q&A session to answer all of your cookie (and non-cookie) questions

You will leave with:

Copies of the recipes for Malted Molasses, Buttered Rum Shortbread, and Cocoa-Mint Sandwich Cookies
A to-go treat bag
A box of freshly baked cookies that you made in the class!

You will receive a reminder email one week in advance of the class with arrival logistics. We will provide the aprons, tools, and ingredients needed for the class.

All classes are held in-person at Sister Pie (8066 Kercheval, Detroit 48214).

Free street parking is available on both sides of Kercheval.
Classes are non-refundable.

You may choose to send another participant in your place, in the event that you cannot attend one of the class sessions.

If the minimum registration for a class is not met, the class may be canceled and you will be notified via email or phone. You will be given the option to receive a refund, credit, or reschedule, depending on availability.
We do our best to take commuting students and staff into consideration with upcoming weather, however Michigan weather can be unpredictable and change quickly.

When a Weather Advisory or Watch has been issued for the region, we will still plan to hold a class but encourage you to factor in extra time to travel safely to the bakery, just in case.

When a Weather Warning has been issued, we will contact all guests about rescheduling their class.
