CARING FOR YOUR PIE

Below are some helpful hints to keeping your pies fresh for serving.

Please refer to our Pie Care + Storage page for more information.

How long do your pies keep? What's the best way to store them?

We think our chess-style pies taste best at room temperature. We recommend you keep them on a cool counter, out of direct heat. If you won't be serving your pies for a day or two, you can also keep them in the refrigerator (in the box is fine). We recommend letting them come up to room temperature before serving.

The Milk Chocolate Chess and Salted Maple are best stored at room temperature and eaten within 3 days of purchase. However, they can also be refrigerated for up to 1 week.

The Cranberry Beret is a refrigerated pie and must be stored in the fridge. It is best eaten within 3 days of purchase.

Can I freeze my pie?

While we do recommend eating our pies fresh and within a few days of purchasing, many of our pies are suitable for freezing.

For proper freezing, tightly wrap the pie in plastic wrap twice. When you're ready to thaw, unwrap the pie and allow it to thaw completely at room temperature, on a cool counter (typically at least 24 hours). We recommend letting the pie come up to room temperature before serving.

Can my pie be reheated?

As a general rule, the Salted Maple, Milk Chocolate Chess, and Cranberry Beret are not recommended for serving warm (they will melt in the oven and won't hold their shape).
