Class: Crimp Camp
Have you gotten the hang of making pie dough but want a little more intensive help with rolling out and crimping pie dough? Welcome to Crimp Camp! This 90-minute class will focus on crimps, crimps, and more crimps, giving you the chance to troubleshoot and practice your crimping technique. Class content will include:
- A lesson on how to roll-out and crimp pie dough
- Hands-on work to roll-out and crimp four (4) crimps of your own
- One-on-one support from pie-professionals to perfect your crimping technique
- Blind Baking 101: how to prevent the dreaded soggy pie bottom
- A Q&A session to answer all of your pie dough (and non-pie dough) related questions
You will leave with:
- Four (4) frozen pie crusts that you rolled-out, to use for future pies
- The All-Butter Pie Dough recipe, including instructions on how to roll-out and crimp a pie
- A to-go treat bag
We recommend keeping a cooler or cold bag in your car to keep the frozen crusts chilled during your trip home
- You will receive a reminder email one week in advance of the class with arrival logistics. We will provide the aprons, tools, and ingredients needed for the class.
- All classes are held in-person at Sister Pie (8066 Kercheval, Detroit 48214).
- Free street parking is available on both sides of Kercheval.
