Class: Baking Buddies: Seasonal Fruit Celebration for 8 - 12 year olds
It's a summer fruit party and you're invited! In this class, each child and their adult chaperone will work together to make scones and a galette, using fresh, in-season Michigan fruit! Featuring lessons on:
- How to make a batch of sweet scones from start to finish, using fresh fruit.
- Assembling fruit galettes (a smaller, lower-labor, and more rustic version of a summer fruit pie).
- Baking demonstration, instructions, and best-practices for scones and galettes
- A Q&A session to answer all of your baking (and non-baking) related questions.
- Coloring activity for the kids!
Each ticket includes entry for 1 child and 1 adult. This class is geared toward children 8 - 12 years old and adults of any age. Each pair will leave with:
- The recipes for the sweet scones and seasonal fruit galettes made in the class
- A to-go treat bag
- A freshly baked scone that Lisa made.
- The fruit galette you made in the class.
- The batch of sweet scones you made in the class, frozen to bake at home at your leisure.
We recommend keeping a cooler or cold bag in your car to keep the frozen scones chilled during your trip home
- You will receive a reminder email one week in advance of the class with arrival logistics. We will provide the aprons, tools, and ingredients needed for the class.
- All classes are held in-person at Sister Pie (8066 Kercheval, Detroit 48214).
- Free street parking is available on both sides of Kercheval.
